FARMER Training Workshop in Trebinje: Designing VET Curricula for Emerging Skills in Agri-Tech and Future Farming

The Erasmus+ FARMER project will hold a training workshop in Trebinje, Bosnia and Herzegovina, from 15 to 18 June 2026, bringing together VET providers, experts, researchers and practitioners working at the intersection of vocational education, agri-food innovation, skills intelligence and rural development.

The training, titled “Designing VET Curricula for Emerging Skills: A Practical Approach to Agri-Tech and Future Farming”, will focus on how vocational education and training systems can better respond to the changing needs of the agri-food sector. Participants will explore labour market trends, emerging skills, graduate tracking, employer engagement, stakeholder dialogue, curriculum redesign and the role of smart agriculture in shaping future learning programmes.

The training will be led by experts with complementary backgrounds in skills intelligence, VET curriculum development, innovation policy, graduate tracking, pedagogy, rural development and smart agriculture. The trainer team includes Nermin Oruč, Branka Anđelković, Iván Diego Rodríguez, Sandra Bjelan, Ivica Sivrić and Mirko Jokić. Together, they will support participants in connecting evidence, curriculum design, stakeholder cooperation and practical innovation.

Through interactive sessions, co-creation activities and expert-led discussions, participants will work on translating labour market needs into concrete learning outcomes, modern curricula and training programmes for the agri-food sector.

A strong and adaptable VET system is essential for preparing learners, educators and institutions for the next phase of agri-tech, sustainable agriculture and rural development. By connecting labour market insights with curriculum innovation and stakeholder cooperation, the FARMER project aims to contribute to more relevant and resilient vocational education in the Western Balkans.

The training will take place at Hotel Leotar, Trebinje, from 15 to 18 June 2026.

The FARMER project is funded by the European Union through the Erasmus+ programme.
